Hope are European friends are all okay. Heard the weather's a bit "rough". Hard knocks from England to Germany... here's wishing all our European friends are okay and everyone's else is alright as well.

Cheers. No hats lost.

My son was due to start a six-day sailing trip in the Channel. I believe they were stuck in the harbour for two days since it wasn't a good idea to let teenagers loose on the sea in 100mph winds. I can just imagine him trying to climb the rigging in gale force winds!

Many thanks for the kind thought Worf. My hat did get blown off twice yesterday (I knew I should have worn my Borsalino with wind trolley), but the ground was dry and no damage done :). It kept me fit for a couple of minutes having to run at least.

A couple of trees came down here, but thankfully nobody was underneath them when it happened.

A very mild storm, in the end. Coupla small trees snapped.

It was, I feel, best summed up by one individual I saw quoted in the press - "Autumn in Scotland". There were a small number of deaths, which is tragic, but it certainly wasn'tg the apocalypse the media predicted in a frenzy. Still, seems most of the private train companies saw it as a good excuse to drop service provision (with no information whatever) to derisory levels for the day.

I did like the beachball (Old Street Tossers). A very British storm.
