Hong Kong vs Kuala Lumpur, tailorwise

Hello folks. If this is posted in a wrong thread, or in a wrong way, let me know.

I'm currently in Hong Kong, and will go to Kuala Lumpur before coming back once more to Hong Kong. I am considering getting a few shirts made. Does anyone have experience from dealing in both cities? I have searched this forum, and found some info about a few tailors, but I haven't been able to find a comparison between the two. Prices? Quality?

Also, does anyone know of any vintage shops in any of the cities? I'm from Sweden, travelling around teaching Lindy Hop, so I'm a bit spoiled with good vintage shops (in Sweden), but it's always fun to find places around the world...

And while on the subject of diversity, are there any music instrument stores? Woodwind preferred? Oh, I also take tips on touristy stuff :) Thank you for your understanding :)

Jantzen tailors in Hong Kong make fine shirts for under $50. Have a few photos somewhere in the lounge, and for a CUSTOM, they are very very fine shirts - quality and style/finish. Look no further... They take net orders too...

I couldn't find any second hand or vintage stores in KL, though admittedly I didn't look all that hard for them.

Singapore was different with quite a few vintage shops with some nice stuff.

I didn't have enough time to get anything made, only staying in each city for about a week.

You might want to send a PM to H.Johnson. He knows KL and HK like the back of his hand.

Yes, but neither are as wrinkly...

In both places street markets, rather than shops, are the way to go vintage IMO. In KL try Chow Kit (avoid Petaling Street) and in HK try Stanley or Kowloon Night Market.

I once picked up a pair of NOS 1967 Levi's (with all tags and flashes) in Chow Kit market.

I've actually found some (three) thrift shops in HK so far. Although very cheap, as cheap as 10HKD/shirt, i only found one true vintage shirt. But if you're not a puritan, there are alot of wool Pendleton-style shirts. No trousers or suits, but a few nice overcoats.
I haven't beem to Jantzen yet, but will try to go there with a shirt I brought from home.
