Don't know if this belongs here, the moving picture section or the Golden Era- so I apologize ahead of time!!
Did anyone see the special on the History Channel a few days ago about WWII and Hitler? There were actually several shows on that afternoon but specifically there was one about some of Hitlers home movies, more accurately movies made by Ava. Being silent they have always perplexed researchers who wanted to know what Hitler was like in non business type situations. All of the propaganda and other clips and reels had been heavily edited and censored, enough so to even hide his Parkinson's (evident by the shaking of his hand in a resting position.) Neat stuff. Anyway, a gentleman who is a deaf mute has developed software that can read the lips of people in film clips. What the program can't read he can so they are a perfect pair. They have deciphered many of Ava's films and with the help of one of the world's leading voice coaches have closely mimicked Hitler's voice so that we may get a hint of what went on at the chateaus. Very interesting stuff. Wish I would have caught more of it.
