If, like me, you have a more than passing interest in industrial design, I can hip you to a semester-long series of lectures on that topic from Matthew Bird, an instructor at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Bird made the videos in 2020, when the pandemic restrictions were at their most stringent, so as to keep the educational process moving forward as best he could.

I came to this with some familiarity, but I’ve learned a whole lot during my many hours of binging. And I ain’t paying a $57K per year tuition.

The viewer is under no obligation to watch every minute of every hour (you aren’t being graded, after all), so if all you really care to know more about is art nouveau or deco or Walter Dorwin Teague or Charles Eames or whatever or whoever, you can skip to the lectures covering those topics.

It’s available on YouTube, for how much longer I have no idea.
