I grew up listening to Bob Vancamp on Fox Theater Organ in Atlanta. The organ is still there to the best of my knowledge, not like the great old organs from many of the great movie houses around the country. The organ from the Indianapolis Fox was moved to a pizza parlor years ago, but I don't know if it is still being played these days.[huh] [huh]

Hi

http://www.wichitaorpheum.com/

We have our own Orpheum Theater in Wichita Kansas. It's right in the middle of downtown. It's open, but being refurbished. I haven't been there yet, but should go see something like True Grit and Rio Bravo.

In searching for the Wichita Orpheum, I found the old Hillsburo Illinois Orpheum. It's also a historic (well, old anyway) theater. The family who now owns it, owns 3 other 50 year old theaters too.

I grew up in Boise, and there is the Egyptian Theater, built in 1932 I think, around the time all the famous discoveries were made in Egypt. The place is still operating, with all the original architecture inside. Beautiful place, makes me happy that its still there.
