Where can I find this jacket? I have several Shinki jackets and would love a veg-tanned goatskin jacket. I didn't see it on his website.
he has a catalog link on his Facebook page. It's one of the new leathers available. He hasn't updated his website with new models or leathers yet.

Fantastic looking jacket. Though is the chest pocket always placed this high?

Yes, he designed the pocket that high :) I noticed it when I was researching the jacket. Same on @Superfluous' jacket. I like it.

Here's another example from his Facebook page. This Frobisher is in horsehide from Victoria tannery:

He's referring to SF's GW Imperial. John remade the front panel and lowered the chest pocket :)

My chest pocket is higher up, and I prefer it that way. Others feel too low now. The thing that works so well on the Forbisher is the curve at the hip. Other jackets are cut straight- nice touch Dave!

Huh... Right, I recall something about it, now.

Do you guys use the chest pocket? Is it easy to reach in? I'm struggling to get stuff out of my Vanson chest pocket and that one is a little bit lower.

I like the angled variety of chest pocket for ease of access...I always struggled getting my meat hook into the horizontal ones. I think my 30's HB will have basically a decorative chest pocket as it's really quite small and couldn't hold much anyway.

I don't personally use the zipper chest pockets. I find them a pain. I contemplated deleting the chest pocket on this Frobisher for 1/2 a second because I knew I wouldn't use it, but I came to my senses and kept the pocket because it looks better. It just completes the design. So for me, they are just for show.

Instead, I got an extra inside pocket. On the Frobisher at least, they are huge and very functional. A vertical left inside pocket (if right handed) is essential IMO!

Yeah, Ton - that's basically my story with horizontal chest pockets. Even the ones on Vanson or Schott jackets, they're way too small for even a cell phone and then once it falls in, it's impossible to dig it back out again. The angled ones are great, though. Like on the Perfectos - and especially on LL Phantom but those are nearly vertical.

I've used the chest pocket on my LHB for everything from credit cards to train tickets or subway tokens. Very handy when travelling. One question, though: is that Himel's regular label? I've never seen that one before and thought for a moment I was seeing the label of a certain Scottish company.

I think the fold above the pocket is giving a false impression of it being higher up. I use the chest pockets on my Board Racer, but rarely on my LHB.

a typical chest pocket sits 9" or so down from where the shoulder seam meets the collar. My 50s Hercules' is down 9.5" and definitely feels low to me. Others all seem to sit closer to 8.75"-9" on a size 38-40.

I've been forced to start using the chest pockets on a lot of my jackets that don't have an inside pocket....they are actually pretty good for putting your sunglasses in. Most of mine seem to be just deep enough to leave a tiny bit of the glasses peaking out which helps stop me from forgetting where i put them ;)

I love chest pockets in all my jackets - perfect for sunglasses, mobile phone, travel card, whatever. That chest pocket does look oddly high to me and spoils the balance of the design. Maybe it works better in person.

Interesting. My Frobisher in size 38-39 has the chest pocket down at a bit more than 8" down from the shoulder seam. Measured straight up from the center of the pocket from the teeth.

It is a bit higher, but I do like it. I'll post some photos of what it looks like during wear. Will probably be this weekend when I can get my wife to snap photos.

for me I measure 20 cm down from the hollow of my neck, from there I place the chest pockets (yes plural left and right :p)
