Man o man, I really need a snazzy looking blue blazer to replace the old Willis & Gieger DB which I no longer own, and here comes JP's email with a link to their latest online catalogue. And within there resides a listing for their Classic English Blazer.

Once again, a tantalizing description and a too-dark-to-see-any-detail watercolor illustration. But I will resist the urge. I am not going to lead the charge on this one. One of you guys will have to roll the dice, I've been burned once too often!

Cheers!

My gut reaction is that it is a very casual blazer.

Patch pockets, for one. Wool-cotton?

Not exactly a Saville row, polished brass blazer.

I used to hate shiny brass buttons on blazers, but now I can't imagine anything else- on this one, they are antiqued to what, make you think it's vintage? hide the fact that it's a blazer?

This looks like the kind of blazer an IT mid-manager would buy after wife/boss begged him to get a navy blazer.

Just my two cents.

I have a Paul Stuart blue blazer. Very nice material. I had them
switch the brass buttons out for grey/mother of pearl buttons
which I prefer since I am not 10 years old or a navy admiral
(that's what those buttons make me think).

Just tried to find it on their site, but it is really terrible.
You might give them a call. Or visit between x-mas and
new year, when they have a sale.

.

I have three blazers, so I am going to pass on this one. It does like nice though. I rather like the patch pockets. If it were as tailored as in the photo, all the better.

Each of my blazers has shiny brass buttons and I would never swap them out. Be the blazer. ;)
