Help with a stubborn brim

Hey guys!
This is a total newbie question and I would appreciate some help :)

I got a new Akubra Federation for Christmas and have been working with the bash quite a bit to get the style I'm going for, but I'm not sure what I need to do with the brim. I love the snap to it, but it just snaps way too much in the back. I don't want the back to be turned up as much as it is. The sides also keep popping back into place when I'd rather them be flat...at least up to a certain point.

Any advice on what to do to get it to be a little flatter? I've heard about using an iron, but I was just wondering what the technique is to it. I just don't want to ruin my nice new hat ;) . Thanks for your help!

You can use distilled water in a misting spray bottle . just wet the brim , shape it how you want it and let it dry. You can get alot of the shape you want by just continuing to work the brim by hand.:)

I'll definitely give that a try then! thanks! I used some water to get the hard pinch in the front (indy style), and I was surprised how well it holds once it dries. This is my first fedora so I'm learning a whole lot :). I didn't realize that the water would work just as well on the brim even though it's so tough. Thanks again for the help
