Help! What am I wearing?

I mean that literally. I was given a big pile of vintage sleepwear, and I have this one truly spectacular thing, but I have no idea what it is.

It's a pink silk charmeuse shawlish sort of thing. It's shaped like a thick C if you grabbed the points of the C and pulled them out like taffy so they were really long. it's all edged in lace. In the shoulder seams there is another pair of long dangly ties, but these are in pink satin while the main ties are mostly lace.

So what is this thing? How do I wear it? There are 4 giant long ties and I can't figure out if they go in front, under the arms, etc.

It's probably just a dressing gown of some sort. I bet the ties at the shoulders just tie in front of the neck.

Is it a kind of bed jacket, something to keep your shoulders warm as you lounge in bed, buffing your nails and nibbling bonbons, talking on a lonstemmed telephone?

Those long ties may cross in front of your waist an tie in back.
