I am thinking about ordering this Schott jacket but the website (Asos) has very little info about it. Can anyone recognize what model this is? I would like to know what leather the jacket is and find out some measurements.

maybe Asos spec a special slimmed down version of that model mentioned by Blackadder, deleting the side straps to make it minimalist, maybe sales dept as asos think minimalist biker jacket delete their epaulette and belt, let's delete side straps on half belt jacket too:eek:

Yes I was thinking that would it be be possible that Schott even makes a "cheaper" version specially for Asos ..

That specific jacket does not look like it's made in the USA, at least judging by the price tag. Jerri usually doesn't have information concerning Schott products intended for the European market and made in Asia. But it's worth a try.

It's on sale now for 250€ like ~300$ including postage, still not worth it you think?

Nope. Not worth a $10. Resale value on these practically doesn't exist and the only reason it doesn't cost $30-$50, how much these jackets realistically should be, is because of the Schott tag.
It looks really bad, too. Mess all over from top to bottom, botched up half-belt style. You're much better off spending your $300 over at Levi's or GAP in this case.

Don't get caught up by the Schott label because when it comes to these Euro and Japanese distributor models, Schott USA has zero control. These made in China, India and Pakistan jackets are just comparable to a Pull and Bear or H&M leather jacket, likely made by the same factory with the same materials in those countries. It just means you are getting a fast fashion brand leather jackets for 250 euros. You can find tons of those leather jackets on ASOS for less just without the Schott label. There is a Calvin Klein jeans leather jacket on ASOS that costs less than the Schott. Ignore the brand name and forget about the quality associated with the brand name because they don't apply to these fast fashion stuffs.

These made-elsewhere Schott jackets are also deceitful.

Always look for the Made in USA tag on any Schott that isn't on Schott NCY page and it has to have both flag and text embroidered into it, like this...

Because if it's just the flag without the Made in USA lettering, like on this jacket, it's a crappy import.

Putting a US flag without a "made in USA" is super sneaky, i didn't know they did that!
It doesn't really surprise me, but still, Schott doesn't seem like a company that needs such cheap shots...

I am surprised. I find this stupid from Schott to give permission to do this. But I guess this means more more for them..

Apparently they just sold off the rights on their name and as @Blackadder noted, haven't much, if any control over what's going on on markets these jackets are intended for. It's very sneaky. I almost fell for it once, myself. Already made a deal and all but then noticed there's text missing from the flag and decided to investigate. It wasn't such a bad looking jacket to be honest, but I didn't come all this way to end up buying junk.

But it's easy to spot these jackets, anyway. They look like trash in 90% of the cases and never like anything from regular Schott line.

I agree they could do without this kind of crap but it rolls in money, I suppose. But it definitely cheapens what is otherwise very good brand.

If you're okay with spending $300-350 on a Schott, here's a great alternative. I had the exact same model, 3 kg's of hide, massive quality all over.
