Hi folks:
I bought this great jacket at Johnson Leathers in San Francisco. It's a wonderful thick and supple olive green goatskin. Alan, the proprietor of Johnson, told me that this was a jacket he'd made for the Japanese market, and that it was based on a vintage European military jacket (he couldn't remember what country and for what military division). He had a few of these in his shop with the Johnson label sewn in because they were made with slightly imperfect hides. In any case, if any of the experts on the forum could identify the jacket this is an homage to that would be great! I believe he may have said the inspiration was a cloth jacket of some sort...Thanks in advance.
