Hello! This is my second post ever - my first one was in the "suits" section...but I just wanted to introduce myself.
I've been dressing vintage since high school or so, but I never really put it together as a "look" until recently - I just worked those pieces in with my everyday modern clothes.
I sew alot so what I can't find (or buy reasonably.....) I make.
You haven't lived until you've made a fifties crinoline!
(that's 48 feet of tulle all gathered and edged with ribbon, waiting to be tacked on the 26 foot layer! I was so bored with running stitches!)
Lately I've been thinking a little dash of golden era finery would go a long way in my life so I've been working hard on putting together clothes that I can wear every day and feel lovely in...
Here is a picture of me out at the theater tonight, all vintaged up. My hair hates to curl so it had gone quite flat by the time these pictures were taken..
At the theater...
before going out, with my coat on....my skirt was too full to button my coat!
