Heading to San Diego - advice needed

Flying to San Diego Wednesday for work-related meetings then back to Detroit Saturday. We have an outdoor event planned for Wednesday night (no idea what it is) but we have been advised to bring a jacket. Question: will my Aero leather jacket (FQHH) be too much jacket for being out and about?
