Have you seen this pattern trouser fabric?

Unfortunatley i can't find a better photo of these, but... I bought these trousers a couple of years ago from www.joebrowns.co.uk. There were called "roadie jeans" if memory serves, and I spent I think £35 on them.

They're cut like a pair of wider leg jeans, and make great casual trousers, work really well with a blazer as here, but as JBs have now stopped doing them I need a new source... Has anyone seen anything in this sort of pattern cloth? It's basically a reasonably hardwearing cotton, lighter than regular denim jeans, but still fairly hardwearing. I'd love to have a couple of pairs of 40s or 50s cut trousers in this sort of look.

jinkies, this takes me back... that photo was taken in July 2006. I'd completely forgotten this thread!

Re the jacket - thanks, it's just an old velvet blazer I found on eBay, but it is nice to wear. I might put some brass buttons on there eventually. No probgress on the trouser fabric just yet, but I intend when cashflow allows to contact Old town and see whether their high waisties could be done in something similar. :)

Ah, short story, really.... The Rocky Horror Show opens with an usherette singing an ode to science fiction films of the 30s through fifties - the stuff Richard O'Brien grew up on and which later on inspired much of the show's plot. The song namechecks a number of films, in particular The Invisible Man starring Claude Rains. The costume in the photo was thrown together from my own wardrobe for those occasions on which I fancied something different from the Riff Raff tails / Eddie's leather / Frank'n'Furter's corset. With the new tour beginning later this year, I am in mind to 'do it right' and have a replica run up of the Dressing gown Rains wears while trying to convince his fellow scientist to be his accomplice.
