I completely agree with your assessment in that one. I’ve had several Oskar Blues beers and would say most are OK, but nothing extraordinary. I do love a good Scotch Ale though....

Founders makes a really good one, I think it’s Backwoods ba***rd.

Also, one from Scotland, Jacobite
From the Traquair House brewery.

Great Divide Claymore is another good one.

I, like Tim recommend Founders Backwoods ba***rd Scotch Ale. Top of the list for me. Truly a sipping beer at 11%ABV.

The Wisconsin beer, Central Waters Reserve Bourbon Beer is excellent. Just plain excellent.

Claymore out of Denver is smooth and drinkable.

I decided to take the advice of you gentlemen and give the Founders Backwoods ba***rd a try. It did not disappoint! I will be drinking this for our Christmas party festivities tonight along with my somewhat generic make Hatters Guild velvety and green tyrolean-ish hat with Celtic cues on its band. Surely to keep me in good cheer!

The flavor profile on this beer is tremendous. I am interested in trying their other Dirty ba***rd scotch ale.. so see if it is less sippable and more drinkable.

Glad you liked it. The hat makes me want some Marzen beer !!

The Dirty ba***rd isn’t bourbon barrel aged, so it’s definitely a little milder, but doesn’t have near the complexity or character of this one. Give it a try though, still a good Scotch Ale.

Kalamazoo Stout poured this evening. I am sipping this full bodied stout as I walk the yard with my dog this late evening. A glorious pour, smell and taste. Ahhhh a stout at the end of a long day is a special mouthful.

Yep, we've had that around here for quite a while. I'm generally not a big Lager fan, but that one is a pretty good European Dark Lager for those who like that style.

Dangerous Man Ludaberry Double Gose is my breakfast beer. The sour beer, https://dangerousmanbrewing.com/beer/ludaberry-double-gose/, with the corriander and fruit puree make it a terrific big flavored breakfast beer.

I am preparing grilled Herring, brown sugar bacon with over-easy eggs on Swedish rye bread for breakfast.

Nothing good goes on sale this time of yr but was able to find some favorites before the tariffs & worth the money. On some like Glenfarclas I got greedy & took two.
