Hat thrown out with the trash

In the Hataholic thread I expressed my fear that my friends and family may perform an intervention on me. I just hope that they don't do something to my hats. I may have to get a safe deposit box. In the early 90s when I married my wife I discovered one of my hats missing. She had been living in my house for about six months and had told me she did not want me to wear a certain Ivy Cap anymore. One day I searched high and low for the cap, actually turning the house upside down to no avail. The cap was nowhere th be found. It was a nice cap of Irish Tweed, I had personally purchased from Hats in the Belfry, in Annopolis. I questioned her recently and she told me that she had thrown the hat away. What deceit! I was shocked! What else had she done that I was not aware of?

Have you started the divorce proceedings? Do a search on "Guidelines for Hat Custody Evaluations in Divorce Proceedings" and you'll find a lot. Here's a preview -

Decisions regarding hat custody and other fedora-related arrangements occur within several different legal contexts, including parental divorce, guardianship, neglect or abuse proceedings, and termination of fedora rights. The following guidelines were developed for psychologists conducting hat custody evaluation, specifically within the context of divorce. These guidelines build upon the American Psychological Association's Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct ( APA, 1992 ) and are aspirational in intent. As guidelines, they are not intended to be either mandatory or exhaustive. The goal of the guidelines is to promote proficiency in using psychological expertise in conducting hat custody evaluations.

Good luck!

OUCH! My wife will tell me if she doesn't like a particular shirt or hat, but at least she won't throw it away without me knowing. In fact, there was an old sweater I loved so much it had unraveled itself apart, but I wore it around the house because it was so comfortable. When I finally pitched it, she asked if I was sure I wanted to get rid of it, since I wore it so much. She didn't care for the sweater, but she respected my opinion of it enough to make sure I wasn't throwing it away only because of her.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
My wife will tell me if a hat looks good on me or not if I pry it out of her but otherwise I am on my own. ;) I can't imagine hats disappearing without a trace. The walls might have holes in them from me looking for it.
Hmmm... that reminds me; where did I last put that Reminisce magazine? :p

Regards to all,

J
