It is only a hat stretcher, with elect. heating elements that heat up, there is no steam that comes out of it, I have two of these.
Price was high, based on no cord with the unit. These things will heat up fast and hot, you better kept your eye on a hat while on one .

I have one electric, and two manual. This one is in very bad shape. Not worth the price.

Our Snrbfshn once scorched the liner on a vintage lid with one of those things. To make matters worse, it was a hat he had already sold; he was stretching it out a bit as a favor to its new owner, if I'm remembering the story correctly.
Bummer, no?
