Hat Sources?

Hi all,

Any good online sources for hats? I've got my trusty Stetson Fedora that I got from the (apparently now defunct) Cockpit about 15 years ago, and is still my favorite hat; but I'd like, if not at least a backup, also a gray or black version for different colors of clothing.

Thanks in advance,

Sean

Seriously, if you want a nice hat, you're probably looking for a vintage hat. To get anywhere close in quality, you need to pay out the arse. For example, considered by some to be the premier hatter in the nation, there's http://optimohats.com. For vintage hats from all makers in all sizes, eBay is probably the best resource (just be sure to ask the seller lots of questions). You can find inexpensive fur-felt hats at http://villagehatshop.com. For a good assortment of nice styles from a reputable maker/dealer, check out http://millerhats.com. There's http://ahat.com, and http://bencrafthats.com too, among many more. Really, truly, though, unless you're made of money, vintage is the way to go; pay $100 plus or minus for a fur-felt hat today and it's not likely to feel as nice or be as of high quality as one that has some years on it.
