Hat pins made with gemstones?

I prefer fedora, and am considering making a nice gemstone hat pin for it. A small unique stone, that can be attached by an inside neodymium magnet so no hole will be made. I like fire opals or fire agates, possibly a faceted gem. I don’t care for cheap enamel pins in a fedora, but do have a pearl hat pin in an older fedora. Comments? Am I losing my mind?

I am a hat maker. I have used earth magnets to attach all manner of strange items to hat bands, both leather and cloth......a small cigar cutter, a small budgie knife, smallish metal pins......it works well.
