Hat monogram initials/letters...

I've seen some posts on here regarding the monogram initials that you see in vintage hats and where one could possibly get those monogram initials. Well, I don't think you can anymore. I've searched forever and also called a local hatter, but to no avail. Anyway, I made my own very easily. Simply buy some inkjet printable fabric sheets, print out the letters, Scotch Guard the sheet, cut them out and glue them to the hat liner with something like Magna-Tac. Here's the first set I put in my wife's Herbert Johnson bowler.

On occasion these the monogram letters get offered in auctions on Ebay. There is one on German Ebay right now:

Seems a bit pricey and it isn't complete. Here are the pics.

I have found more than one of these monogram letterboxes the last few years. The type seen above is most common. There is an older type as well.

That is pretty cool, thanks for sharing. I had thought about buying old typewriter keys for this purpose.
