Hat ideas for shorter man....

i am rather short....5'6" ...and feel like the 2 3/4 brims are a little much for me. have bulky build, so stingy brims on the other hand look silly. have found 2" - 2 3/8" brims probably the best. also, extremely high crowns overpowering.

homburgs i have found have the right dimensions; any other suggestions much appreciated.

There are low crown Stetson Open Roads with 2.5-inch brims. You could also have a wider brim trimmed and re-bound with ribbon, or leave it raw.

I'm the same height as you, and fairly stocky. Being broad shouldered, a 2 1/2" brim or even a little larger works just fine for me. Anything smaller, and it's not properly proportioned for my body. Also, keep in mind that tall crowns add the perception of height. I wear hats that have open crown heights around 5 3/4" tall. It's all about proportionality.
