My obsession with vintage hats has branched off in several directions, not the least of which is an on-going quest to find old store advertising from the 30's and 40's. Most of the stuff that I've come across is either in really bad shape or incredibly over-priced.
Yesterday, I was walking through a local antique mall and came across this...
If you'll pardon the pun, I thought that this was just too cool and best of all, reasonably priced! The print is 24" wide and 18" high. Framed, it measures out at 28" w x 22" h.
The down side (if there is one) is that the print is not as old as it appears. It is apparently a company-authorized reproduction from the Bee Hat Company in St. Louis of one of their earlier ads. The reason being is that the company address in the lower right-hand corner lists not only a phone number, but a fax number. Still, I can certainly live with the illusion!
Anyone else collect these works of art? Show me the trover!!
