I love randomly stumbling into stuff like this on the internet. While looking for images of Franklin Roosevelt, I found this fascinating story.
Seems Harry Truman was as responsible as anyone for the creation of the US Interstate Highway System. While the credit given to Dwight Eisenhower is fully deserved, this story explains the important role Truman had as well.

Thank you very much for posting this. I especially like the photo of Truman from when he was 10 years old and the story towards the end of the article. :)

It's interesting. One time for a government class, we had to come up with who we thought was the best president starting with Roosevelt to the current (which at the time I believe was still Clinton). In addition to that, we had to come with a reason why (based on what the President did during his administration). To my surprise, my group and many other groups in the class said Truman.
