Has everyone got something green picked out to wear today? I've got a vintage 40's day dress. Looks hardly worn! A rather changable green polished cotton??? Not sure about the fabric. I have two dresses made out of this and I'll have to get pics so you's can check em out!
Anyhoo.. it has white eyelet trim and I bought some white eyelet shoes at Target this week. Kohl's had some eyelet espidrilles but they were fifty bucks.

I tried to find a green flower or some such froufrou for my hair and nadda! Geesh.. every other holiday the stores are crammed with stuff 5 months before. Seems St. Patty's didn't get much attention 'round here. I think I'll just go up to the florist and get a real carnation.

I'm wearing a black suit with green gloves and a green rhinestone pin and earrings set that I got recently. The seller said the pin set had belonged to her grandmother, from the 30s or 40s (I'd say 40s). I told her I would be wearing it this day - and she said that was so ironic, as her grandmother had always worn it for St. Patrick's Day.:)

My plans went down the drain. I had planned on wearing a pretty green dress today, but it's a lighter weight dress and we are just at the tail end of a blizzard. So, it's too darn cold and snowy to wear what I planned. I just don't have anything warm enough.

I hate to tell you this but we're looking at about 90 - 100 today.

I had an anxiety attack yesterday while visitng my family (and 10 of my brother's closest friends came over, so there was way too many people I don't know, not to mention the stress of my sister in law hating my brother to have anything to do with any other female, like ME) so the most I'm doing today is putting my red and green striped robe over my red chemise and red and green striped jammie pants.

It's Christmas-ey, but at least it's green.

Right now I'm at work, so I have a green sweater on and a scarf in my hair thats white with black and white dogs on it and two big green stripes going down it. None of it is vintage :eusa_doh: . And I just spent any play money I had on my cats vet bill, so I probably won't be doing anything tonight anyways, maybe I'll stop at a bar for one green beer :D .

:D Happy Saint Patricks Day:D

I'd be so happy with a warm up. But it is easier to get comfortable in cold weather then it is in warm. When it's cold, you put on layers and the right type of clothing, and you can be quite comfy. When it's hot, it doesn't matter how light you dress, it's just darn hot! I was gonna complain about my electric bill being really high. My condo is on the top floor, and I don't share walls with any other units, so I get the brunt of the weather. I have to keep my heat at 72 just to make it tolerable on a cold and windy day. But I'm sure that you all get slammed with high electric too, if you have to run the central air. I guess it's a no win situation!!!
I hope some of our cold wind blows your way and cools y'all down a bit:)

Boohoo! We got the snow as well. Now I don't know what I'm going to wear! We're going out but it's not that big of a deal.

Nicoletta that outfit sounds adorable, would love to see it all together!

I've got nothing green either, but, problem easily solved! Since it's another beautiful sunny day outside, I'm making the most of it and doing yard work...so, the grass stains on my shoes will give me the Patricks day look:p

I dressed in a 60s kelly green daytime dress and black ballet shoes, as it was all you can eat and I didn't fancy mincing back and forth to the buffet in my new platforms. Well, I was way overdressed. It is a nice place out of town about 40 minutes away, in Honeoye Falls, but I forget that on St. Patrick's day many people wear weird "St. Patty"-themed clothing or a green golf sweater. And the help were allowed to dress down. Way down. One gal had on moccasin slippers and a tattered pale green t-shirt. So, I am glad I didn't wear the silk shantung I had picked out but decided it was a little too chilly for it. I felt like Lisa Douglas enough as it was. Everyone looked like they were having fun, though, and that's what counts.

I wore an early 1940s jadeite green polka dot playsuit with a matching skirt. I had a photo shoot at a vintage train museum this morning, and as luck would have it, my outfit perfectly matched the interior of their 1939 cars. I will post photos later. :)
