This is a very cool classic tweed sportcoat made by Chester Barrie. An internet search shows taht they wre a Saville Row company that seems to have developed into a larger producer, then closed down, then was arecently bought and revived. I do not know if this was made before the closure or not. It sems to be from the nineties on, probalby ten or so years old I would guess.

Either way, it definitely is done in both a great classic style, and also great quailty of construction.

The fabric weight is medium. Not as heavy as a vintage tweed, but not one of those light weight modern types. It seems to be all wool and has several colors which are light green, tow shades of olive, black and occasional rust.

The condition seems to be excellent with no signs of wear. Except, I just now found a small hole. It is in the shoulder and will need some type of reweaving or patching. I was bummed, but will reduce the price. I still think it is a great piece and would be well worth the cost of a repair. i am discounting it about the same as the repair would cost I think.

the style is great with a three button closure, medium lapels, horn buttons, nad a very unusual vented sleeves. They are subtle, so they would not be too noticable in a modern setting, but add a nice classic touch. Some of the seams are lap seams which is unusual and it has patch pockets with flaps on the hips. Lining is 3/4 with most of the back not lined. On top of the vent in the back, the whole sleeve is put on with an unusual touch. It is not quite a lap seam. All the way around the arm is a flap about 1/3 inch that lays flat and looks like a lap seam, but is actually not attached, In the back it opens into the vent.

the style overall would seem to fit into an office setting as long as it was not conservative corporate, it would also be great for just kicking around with or without a tie.

The size in the tag is 44 long. The chest measures 44 inches, so I would probably call it a 43 long. back of collar to bottom of back is 34 inches, sleeve is 24 1/2 inches from shoulder seam to cuff. the inside is 16 inches pit to cuff. There is about 1 /2 inches to let down if need be. The shoulders are 19 1/2 inches from seam to seam.

I was going to put this out at $60 shipped. But because I found the hole, i will sell it for $20 including US shipping. THis should allow for a repair and still give you a great coat for less than $60 or so. I would love to see this go to a good home. It is the perfect thing for a guy that loves vintage and classic style, but wants modern well made clothing.

Let me know if you ahve any questions. If more than one person wants it, I will go by first come fitst serve. So plese respond on the forum rather than pm so I will have a record of who contacted me first.
