I picked this up in Beacon NY for close to nothing. It was just sitting there.

This hat I bought a few years ago. Perhaps I am being a bit over zealous in showing my hats so quickly.I just get a bit excited about showing them. I have bought eight hats off of Ebay in the past few months. I also have bids out for a few more. I recently recieved my AB Deluxe from Marc ,A beautiful Borsalino arrived this morning and I will be getting another GH custom later today. I am in hat buying mode lately. I alternate between vintage hats, custom hats, military rifles and military hats.

That is my happy face.

Fantastic hat, Douglas. I am really envious of your experiences in finding these great hats--I have been shopping for a nice Borsalino for some time, and I don't think it is going to come easily in my 60/61 size.

Thank you Cruiser.I do like the Borsalinos above all other vintage. I just recieved one today. It is absolutely amazing. It is super soft and lite. It is also a size 7 which is too small for me but I will try to have it stretched. I will have photos of that one tomorrow. If I run across your size I will alert you.

I was reading some of the threads on Borsalinos and how to some what date them. It seems that this one is not that old. It really does'nt matter to much to me it is still a great hat.

D?ºsseldorf? Now that's interesting! Maybe it was owned by an emigrant form Germany. A really beautyful hat. I can just say,as I come from Germany, if you ever should decide to sell it please, let me know!;)

This...

looks to me like a fairly old liner, it looks quite like the liner(s) on my two borsalinos that have been dated to the late 1940s

I was reading that the "Antica Casa" denoted that the hat was made after they moved the factory. Maybe I read it incorrectly. At any rate new or old this is a fantastic hat and I am sorry to say that I will be keeping it. I will find out if there is a style or model number.

Since the hat is from the mainland it would have antica casa as it was made in Italy. The antica casa being a modern thing is for hats produced for US consumption. It used to say original house, now (from the early 80s?) it says antica casa.

Any labels under the sweatband with numbers printed?

I will check tonight.
There are no numbers on the inside of the sweat only a stamp in ink that has 2 April 19-- I can't read the last two digits. That figures.
