just noticed on FB that AL have knocked another £25 off their sale jackets

If it's your size and you're 6ft tall or a little bit less I suggest this would be an awesome smash and grab:

I'm a 38 but this in size 40 was an exquisite fit on me, except for the sleeves which are an inch or so too short - I like mine about 27.5" long. Fyi, it doesn't fit like an aero Hercules, it fits closer. With this smooth hide what you get is a jacket that actually looks quite smart on, not at all causal since it looks fitted, which personally was a pleasant surprise as based on those website images I for one was not expecting that.

*For your reference the long rider is the same jacket minus that piping on the front i.e. it's cut with the same pattern

What about tall guys with very long arms? Virtually impossible to find anything, anywhere with sleeves that are long enough without going to a custom order for me. :(

Yes. Nearly impossible. I need 27-27.5" sleeves. The Aero sale page is nice for ideas, but the fun stops there.

chaps, it says 'tallish' - you two with your monkey arms are both flat out TALL!

When people now tell me it's a blessing to be tall, I tell them they have no idea what a blessing being able to fit into a regular jacket size is.
Because we almost always have to go custom, we:
A) almost always lose money
B) Have to wait for our jackets to be made
C) Perusing the Internet for jackets is no fun. Best metaphor: She's
a perfect girl but she has a boyfriend. It almost worked/fit but I can't
buy it.

I hear ya Nick! For a long time I've quite fancied trying a Lost World's jacket but whenever I see the measurements for what I assume are stock jackets, usually in listings on ebay, the sleeves are always too short - despite what Stu has to say about who does and does not need Long sizing - and so given the 25% surcharge for extra length + the very realistic possibility of being dry humped by customs they are for me, sadly, a non starter

Nick, I feel your pain. The MINIMUM sleeve length for me for any jacket is 27 inches. Both my Highwayman and Teamster are 27.5 " and could even go a bit longer. Schitz, it would make no financial sense at all for you to buy a Lost Worlds jacket unless one showed up in your size on EBay in the UK. Otherwise, VAT and shipping charges would be a bitch. :(

Another often occurrence: seeing a jacket on ebay with a decent length, but moving on because you figure the guy measured from the top of the jacket down!
