OK, getting ready to pull the trigger on the Highwayman and need some advice. I'm in the U.S. Should I order from Mark at the "e-bay store" or communicate with Amanda et al directly. I'll be having a couple of modifications done (pockets, length). Will the prices be the same from Mark and the factory? Any other input from you guys that have the Highwayman would be appreciated also; DOs and DON'Ts.......that sort of thing. Thanks!

Hi,
Aeroleathers' Highwayman is an excellent choice. As you live in the US I think I would order thru Mike, as he is the factory representative. There are lots of postings about this specific jacket. I think one of the most important issues about this jacket is that it is bulky. Give all your measurements to Mike and he can give advise as well. You may have to wait for several months before you get your jacket. There is a waiting list at Aero... Changing details during waiting time is no problem. Just think what you want: lining, inner pockets, chest pockets, storm cuffs, leather choice. Good luck.

^^^ Andy, I think you meant to say, "Mark", not Mike since Mark is the Aero USA representative. :)

Too much coffee - congrats on making your decision! I too have an Aero leather jacket on order thru Mark... he's an absolute pleasure to work with. He keeps in constant touch with Amanda and he does a great job of responding to my emails promptly and is very patient to talk to over the phone... you won't be disappointed! :)

Off topic but I'm originally from your area of Arizona. My dad graduated from Univ of Arizona back in 1963 with his masters in Mining Engineering... I was born in 1973 in San Manuel (we moved away from Arizona a few months after I was born)... are you familiar with San Manuel? I hear it's a small former mining town located close to Tucson?

Cheers,
Navin

Hey Navin;
Thanks for your response. Yes, been through San Manuel a few times. My daughter was Miss Arizona 2005 and my wife and I tried to accompany her, as much as we could, to her Miss Arizona appearances. She spoke and performed a few times in San Manuel and its next door neighbor, Mammoth. She graduated from The University of Arizona in 2007. Thank you for your advice and I know you'll show off the pics of your Highwayman when it arrives.

Hey! Thanks for your message... congrats to your family on your daughter's wonderful accomplishment... I'm sure you all must be very proud. :)
Someday I hope to see my birthplace... I remember about 15 years ago while I was in college I met someone from Tucson who moved here to Maryland and they told me San Manuel was pretty much a "dump" and ghost town... hopefully San Manuel isn't like that now and from the sounds of your message it doesn't appear to be the case.

Oh, and I did not order the Highwayman. I'm surprising everyone here with my "custom" order. I customize cars as a hobby so I chose to do the same with my Aero leather jacket while at the same time dedicating my jacket to my deceased grandfather... more info and pics to come once the jacket is in my hands hopefully by the June timeframe of this year. :)
