Goldtop RAF Flying Jacket opinions

Hey guys,

What do we think of this jacket?

Anyone have any experience with Goldtop? I’m deciding between this or a 2nd hand ALC Irvin jacket.

I'm not too fond of either. For a Irvin at a good price I'd go with What Price Glory.

My experience was a bit different. Maybe I didn't know what to reasonably expect at the time.
I ordered one in 2016 or so. The leather was so thin it was stretching and cracking the topcoat as I was trying it on, particularly in the shoulders of the main body and behind the elbows. I ended up getting a return authorization the next day and sent it back.
From reviews at the time, it sounded like the leather got thinner with each production run. I do not know how they have been since.

I think they have the improved version since then, the review above was posted in 2018. I don’t have one though so I’m just going from other people.

Not liking either, I’d be trying to pick up a used Eastmans or Aero or waiting until 5* get one in production.
