i suppose some people matriculate uP once they get into this mil and motorcycle jacket thing...i've matriculated in both directions...starting with (guLp) cooper (not cooper saddlery, but cooper in the 90s) a-2s with their gaping necks and paper thin skin...but eventually ordering an $800 highwayman (aero)...

now, the 184sm is not cheap...and it's a verrry nicely made jacket...but i don't know what happened to me...somewhere down the line i accepted those big gaping wound side entry pockets slashed into the venerable top entry patch pockets...i accepted seeing a motorcycle jacket removable mouton collar on a miL jacket, and i accepted even those movie-prop style epaulets on the 184sm (what i believe donald sutherland is wearing as if it were an a-2 in 'kelly's heroes', that 60s tongue in cheek ww2 flick with clint eastwood)

i don't know what happened...maybe somewhere down the line i accepted the 184sm as a style unto itself...and wanted one...

am i reaLLy so bad?! reaLLy so wrong?!

oh...and i ordered it in bLack...

yeah, i feel bad...i think i'll just not go to my 12-step program tonight...sit down with a taLL jack and coKe...and wait for my 184SM

It's all right. I'm intrigued by the Gibson & Barnes A2 front/G-1 back jacket (F-81?) that's in their catalog. I don't know if they still make it, though, since I haven't found it on the website. But getting back to Schott, just try to stop before going for the G-1/Lumberjack model:

look here, the lumberjack model is a great piece of ... well, it's just a great piece...

the battle against trees, like the battLe against faScism, never ends...it's always growing out there...i would be proud to wear a pLaid jacket that paid homage to the contributions the Midway made in the battLe against the trees...

i'm getting one of them jackets...if my mastercard's not maXed out yet
