Going for a brown Akubra - Federation Deluxe or Sydney Fedora?

I have:

(1) Carbon Grey Akubra Federation
(1) Regency Fawn Akubra Traveller
(1) Carbon Grey Akubra Casual (on its way from David Morgan)

I want one more brown, and I know it's either going to be the Federation Deluxe or the Sydney Fedora.

Sydney Fedora:

Brim: 2 1/2"
Crown: 5 1/2"
Ribbon: 1"

Federation:

Brim: 2 7/8" x 2 3/4" (dimensional)
Crown: 6"
Ribbon: 1 1/2"

I think I've kind of made up my mind and I'm going to go with the Sydney Fedora for variety purposes. I've heard plenty of people talk about their Federations on here, but I don't believe I've heard anybody talk about the Sydney Fedora. Who owns one and what do you have to say about it?

Anybody? I've actually decided on the Sydney, I believe, for variety purposes, but now I'm stuck on the size to get. I understand that Federations run a bit big, so the size 61 I got works for me. I'm considering getting the Sydney in 62. Just curious if anybody has any input before I put my order in. Thanks!

It appears to be a handsome hat. It has a smaller profile than the Federation, which I could see as being appealing. It seems to be a sound choice. As someone figuring out what I want to buy as well, I look forward to your pics when you get it.

I just received my second Federation (this one in tawny fawn; a very versatile color, in my opinion), and they do indeed tend to run slightly large. But, they are certainly in the ball bark, and by some accounts, they will shrink a bit, over time. I suggest you provide the vendor with your exact measured size, and let them make the call. My personal preference is slightly large rather than slightly small. Anyway, I am sure you will enjoy your new Akubra. They make a swell hat.

Rick, you've been touting the Akubra Swing for quite some time! Thanks for reminding me of it. Strand Hatters also has an "Akubra Legend" and an "Akubra Strand," both exclusively made for Strand Hatters. Unfortunately, there are no images of these models on the page -- all it says is that they're both open crowned.

The Strand comes in Regency Fawn and Graphite Grey. It is an open crown with a narrow snap brim.

I'd be interested in a photograph of these hats, if possible, along with dimensions and measurements. What sizes do these hats come in? I'm a 61 or a 62, depending. What is the crown height, brim width, and ribbon dimensions on each hat? What is the price of each hat in US dollars?

Are there other Akubra exclusives that Strand Hatters offers? Is the Swing model an exclusive?

Yeah, I'll cop to that, I do gotta thing fer the swing... regrettably what I have not come up w/ is an xtra $135 USD. I keep hopin' someone here'll buy one & give us a first hand report contrasting it with the Federation or another benchmark hat with which we are all (mostly) familiar... living vicariously, you know.
