I'm currently in the process of choosing a new pair of eyeglass frames, and am set on sticking with a pair of browline glasses. I have a somewhat large head, so vintage frames are largely out of the question (I also find the old style nosepads very uncomfortable). I've found a pair that I'm attempting to come to a decision on and was hoping that I could solicit some feedback. Namely, I'm concerned 1) That it might be too large, and 2) That it defeats the retro vibe that I appreciate from browline frames. I've posted comparison photos below of my current glasses and then of the ones I'm considering.

I also had my wife take a photo from ~6 ft away to eliminate the optical effect of the frames appearing larger in closeup:
