can anyone tell me if they think the russet brown horsehide from g@b seems too shiney @ vinyl like !! i have an eastmans a2 in russet @ it feels @ looks like a different hide altogether,,,also smells much better.If this is normal for gibson@barnes is there anything i can do to tone it down sharpish,,,,,:(

The G&B horsehide almost looks like plastic to me. The spray finish on top is very thick and even if it wears away over time the skin underneath will have the same colour. A vintage patina is very unlikely with their chrome tanned drum dyed and spray finished horse.

hi,@ thanks for your reply,,its a lesson learned,,know what your getting before money changes hands,,,,,,its a well constructed jacket,,just doesnt feel or smell right!!!! i was at the aero factory a couple of weeks ago @ will measured me up for an a2 38,,in seal jerky,,,saw one they had almost finished,,,i know which horsehide i prefered,,,,,will use the gibson@barnes @ try get rid of the new look,,,heres hoping
