I have a German Hat given to me in the mid 1950's. The sweat band needs replacing. Does anyone know if HOFFRICHTER is still in business? Thank you, Larry

Hi,

can you post some pictures of the hat, printings and under sweatband labels? Maybe, I can see something, to help you further.

There is a source on a hatmaker Hoffrichter of Wiesbaden, I found, of 1867/1877.

Here is aome more record:

Some Mr. Krumm is talking about his mother, who worked in fashion shops of Wiesbaden. They had jewish owners and were destroyed in 1938. Hoffrichter was one of them.

Would be really interesting to see pics of your hat, in order to date it. Might well be pre 1938!

There is some current Yello Pages entry of a fashion shop of that name in Wiesbaden. Not a hatter, however.

Do you have a link? Should I have the sweatban replaced now or wait? Larry, Houston, Texas

Pictures would be helpful to give an assesment.

I have not found any website of the present company.
