I can see that. Happy it was your size, sad it wasn't mine [emoji6]Thanks, Steve. It was one of those hats you can't leave behind.

Great colour, style, matching binding, and thin ribbon. You wear it well, it wears you well. You both look good. In short: I want one [emoji4]Römer Hut in "Stratoliner" style. The felt is fairly stiff and thin. Unfortunately no tags and only a very weak sweatband imprint. Difficult to estimate the age.

Georg, Looks great! I have a Römer Hut "Antelope" but have no idea about the maker. Is the liner stitched in or glued? Here is mine.Römer Hut in "Stratoliner" style. The felt is fairly stiff and thin. Unfortunately no tags and only a very weak sweatband imprint. Difficult to estimate the age.

For German made hats there is a shift to glued in liners around 1960. My guess is my hat is slightly older (based on components). They both are the same style. Mine has a grey sweatband, the liner is sown in with a protective cellophane layer.
Is a glued or sown in liner an age indicator?

Beautifully heathered charcoal felt with black ribbon. Excellent condition for its age with the leather sweatband being supple. Unfortunately not my size so this is currently for sale in the classifieds.
That is a beauty, Garret. Max is a lucky man if he's managed to bag that one.Circa 1930's Carl Ceschka's Söhne Wien
