yes we have talked about it once. Nice thing matters
Would be nice to run into a find like this one. The hat display stands must go back a hundred years along most of the other stuff.
Being German, and a hunter, I sometimes will wear my hunting hat. It's similar to the one in my display picture but a dark green colour instead. Its use is sacred, so I only really wear it for the hunt (and when the hunt is successful, I place a blood-soaked evergreen twig in on it), holidays, and special occasions.
I like that finish! That's a cool hat for sure.
Thank you Steve - Yes its a little bit Multicolor. The fur you mean it is Fur, is Igel in English hedgehog . What do you think Steve, how old is it? I have no guess
My guess is rabbit/hare felt. I must say I do like the hedgehog look! How does it respond to a counter clockwise brush + steam?
Borchert Berlin W., size 59cm, back of sweatband stamped August 6, 1952. Could have been made by Rehfus & Cie. (Kehl a. Rhein) after factory reopened in 1951. Also the Borchert Berlin W. store location changed after WWII because the original location was in the Soviet sector.
1913 ad showing Rehfus & Cie. as the maker of the C.W. Borchert Berlin W. mark.
