When my missus gets the bit between her teeth...............I have no idea what time she came to bed last night, all I know is that there was an altered pair of trousers waiting for me when I woke up this morning. She had unpicked the waistband, unpicked the centre seam that runs through from the back of the waistband to the flies, she had unpicked the trouser hems and finally she took the zipper out of the flies. Working in reverse, she removed enough material but left a generous internal hem before sewing up the centre seam, she then put buttonholes and buttons into the fly where the zip originally was, she then raised the waist before sewing the waistband back on, then she added buttons for the braces/suspenders, adjusting their position before sewing them in and finally she took the bottoms up, created a turned up cuff and finished off the hem, with reinforcing tape, sewn into the underside to prevent fraying when then trouser hem rubs against my shoes.
The result. I will let you see them on when I can get someone to photograph them. But for now:

The quality of these trousers, together with the workmanship, I would guess that they had been made to measure, and for a big guy. The inside leg measured 35" whilst the waist was 44" it's probably why they had remained unsold. But to my ladies eye, she saw a classic trouser, that can match or contrast, much of my jackets, from blazers to leathers, and will look the part with my floral shirts. I am delighted.

There's a couple of shirts and a pair of blue baggy trousers waiting to be made in my wife's cabin. For the last month she's been busy making a dress for a Christmas event that we will be going to. She finished it today, talk about wow factor. If any ladies are looking in, feel free to cut and paste the photos to the powder room. https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/show-us-what-youve-made.9752/page-384

I had better qualify that it won't be me wearing the dress.

This waistcoat/vest is a project to be made. Last night Tina measured me up. Using dress pins she made a toile, ( a mock up version of whatever you’re sewing.) The finished garment will look similar to the one shown.
It will be a much better fit, and so will the finish, you can be sure of that.
