$75 for one suit
$50 each, if you take the lot (or most of them)
... plus shipping to be discussed. I'll keep the cost as low as possible, as usual.
This is a long shot, so I'll keep it short. Having switched to vintage suits, I no longer need my Scabal made-to-measure suit wardrobe consisting of 12 suits.
All seasons are covered, from Harris tweed over flannel and woolens to linen, gabardine and wool twist.
All of them are very well cared for, just a few wrinkles, no odours, no ripped seams or repairs etc. etc.
Size:
The suits will ideally fit a 36"-37" chest, 29"-30" waist and a body height of 5'7" to 5'8" (I'm 37/30, 5'8"). They were made around 2012 by Scabal's only MTM factory in Güdingen/ Saar, Germany. They cost between €800-1400 each.
Ask for detailed measurements and I'll post them here.
Construction:
All except for the two tweeds are quarterlined with minimal shoulder padding and construction. Very fine detailed work. Working cuffs, horn buttons, floating canvas, the whole works. Some of them have patch pockets, some have welted or flapped pockets.
Trousers are double pleated, most of them are uncuffed. They have buttons for suspenders and side tabs, no belt loops.
Cut:
A very conservative cut for 2012, descended from mid-1950s cuts in terms of lapel shape, but with suppressed waist. Trouser rise is higher than current off-the-rack, but reaches only to the navel, so it's like an early 20s trouser cut, not a 30s-50s cut.
Pattern idiosyncracies:
None! Im easy to fit and these suits were not altered from the main pattern. I only bought them for their construction and choice of fabrics, not to counter any asymmetries of the body.
Price:
If anyone is interested, I can offer these for a bargain as I would like to clear the space they occupy in the closet. I was thinking $75 for a single suit, and if you buy a lot or all of them we can further reduce the price considerably down to $50 each if you take them all (or lots of them).
I'm also open to offers.
Each suit will come in a suit bag.
I'm adding a few photos of some of these suits. Please contact me directly by PM and/or post here. Newcomers to the Lounge, just post here or contact me at nkoos [at] gmx [dot] de
