Royal Air Force Officers' leather kit bag Gladstone-type WWII or pre-WWII
Measurements: 23" X 10" X 7.5" packed
Flexible, thin but durable chestnut brown leather, conditioned with Lexol, free of odours - it really smells only of Lexol-conditioned leather and nothing else. Bottom of the bag as well as the Gladstone-type upper section is enforced.
Original purple cotton liner has been removed. The bag can be used unlined, if desired, since the Lexol conditoning was also done on the inside of the bag, effectively closing the porous hairy side of the leather - you won't have to worry about abrasion of leather onto the contents of the bag.
If I were to replace the liner, I'd use a pigskin hide such as from this supplier:

Mechanical condition: Slight thinning of the leather at corners, but still functional. One of the straps for closure need reinforcement to be fully functional. I would recommend to use the bag with lighter loads, although at the moment it still holds a full load. No other faults.
