I have 1 original pair of WWII russet brown officer low quarters and 2 pairs of modern made plain-toe oxfords in russet brown with vintage laces and 1 nice pair of cap-toes that could be used for the same. Hope it's ok for me to link to a listing I have on another site - it took me forever to create the post and would like to not have to repeat the process unless it's absolutely necessary..here's the link. (my appologies to the mods if this isn't allowed)

Low quarters.

Doug, this is as much as I could do to help you out. But you'll need to sort out the photo links. Cheers.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have three pairs of Russet brown "close enough" Officer Dress Oxfords (shoes) AND one pair of original for sale..

Modern Bostonian plain toe w/ leather soles that I stripped and re-dyed to a proper russet color using "Torrago Russet Brown Shoe Cream" and kiwi wax. I also replaced the stock laces with true vintage flat cotton brown laces. These are size 10&1/2 (M). They are hardly used at all, only around my house and yard. $60. Plus shipping

Next Pair : Same as the first except I stripped these and re-dyed them using Lincoln's "Russet Brown leather dye for shoes". Added flat vintage laces too. Used even less than the first. These are size 10&1/2 (W). $60 Plus shipping.

Third Pair : Italian made Banana Republic cap-toes, a very nice and very expensive shoe (think they were $225 new?). The color is great though not quite what you'd call russet brown more a light english tan. I am willing to dye them russet if anyone wants me too before I ship. These are size 11(D). $60 plus shipping.

Fourth Pair (WWII originals) : These are WWII Original officer shoes made by Stacy Adams - quote from the auction "QUALITY BROWN LEATHER U.S. MILITARY SURPLUS SHOES

THESE SHOES WERE ISSUED DURING WORLD WAR II
TO ARMY OFFICERS AND ENLISTED MEN.

THESE SHOES ARE USED BUT IN GOOD CONDITION.
SOME MINOR SCUFFS ON TOES, AND SOLE SHOWS
LIGHT WEAR, BUT HEELS AND INTERIOR LOOK GREAT."

I cleaned and lightly stripped off the top coat and re-dyed them with Torrago Russet Brown shoe cream, now they glow and are a bit lighter with a nice shine, could easily be darkened with common kiwi polish. These are marked 10&1/2 (D/B) and fit my D foot like a glove - literally they feel like gloves on my feet the leather around the mid-foot is thin and textured by age. $80 plus shipping.

Pictures : Upload keeps failing!!

I don't have any problems uploading pictures on other sites but for some reason this one is giving me fits. My images are "bitmap" images...any way to easily change them so that they are FL friendly? [huh]
