Ah, the old days...

Two years ago I found an old pair of smoothleather winklepickers I used to wear way back when. They were as hard as Kruppstahl after all those years, stored away in a plastic bag in the basement. Repeated treatments with liberally applied amounts of leather conditioner did the trick and softened them up again.

I used to wear them (along with a slim fitting black suit, a skinny tie and a hat of the same color, combined with a blood red shirt ) in my new wave days back in the 1980's... I suddenly feel the urgent need to put on The Sound's first album from 1980, Jeopardy...
