Large size Cockpit Clothing 'Aviator' 1942 pattern Irvin repro (48-50") for sale.
I am selling a rare very early Cockpit Clothing Southampton jackets from the same period as the early Eastmans (this is not to be confused with Cockpit USA). I would guess late 80's early 90's. This jacket is based on a Links pattern (with a smaller rounded collar) and has very long wide arms with the perfect taper found on originals. The idea being to protect the wrists when the arms were raised above the head in an open topped plane. The panel configuration is identical to the Eastman 42 pattern. The materials though are in my opinion superior as the outer coating has the raised creases seen on original jackets. The hide has been well fed and is supple and there are no unpleasant odours.
It looks like there has been very little wear and the jacket is very clean with no issues apart from a single hole to one chest panel near the armpit (pictured). If I were keeping the jacket I would stitch or patch it, but this is way too large for me to keep.
From a smoke-free environment.
Please check dimensions:
Pits base of gusset 25 1/2 in
Shoulder to cuff 29 in
Shoulder seam to seam 22 in
Base of collar to waist 28 in
Waist at belt 24 In
I am asking 375 GBP plus shipping costs.
