I've worn this jacket for a while but have recently come to terms with the fact that it's too big after getting some better fitting jackets. The jacket is unlabelled but I think it's well documented on the lounge that this design is a Ward's jacket under their California label (possibly made by California Sportswear).

I got both the zipper and the lining replaced. The zipper is a CC by crown. The stitching is relatively neat. The zip itself is one of my favorite #5 zippers. Very smooth.

All other zips are original and function well besides one sleeve zipper and one chest zipper which both work but are missing their pulls.

Both the epaulets and the belt has been removed (not by me, put away your pitchforks) I think to make the jacket look more like an aviator.

Asking price is $600 shipped world wide payments through PP FF.

Yes, this is a California Sportswear jacket. I have one with the original tags; MW and CSC horsehide tag. I had another that did not have any tags as I recall, also had side zips and belt removed. I have also seen this style without the side zips.

I call these transitional Aviators, The cross zip with half-belt back. The belt was added with zip sleeves for more of a motorcycle look. The half-belt ended with these last few Aviator, replaced by the Kidney panel. This all happened around 1950.

The side zips on these models is unique. I've seen it one another jacket, but that is it.

Nicely replaced zipper is often a plus on old jackets, lining too. Two weak areas have been updated.

Probably a size 42/44.

I may talked myself into buying this one.
