Up for sale we have quite an extraordinary find - an early 1940s leather and wool combo buttoned jacket produced by Edward Goldman Co., in 'as new' condition. Please note that I have a number of solid offers on eBay and will likely accept one on there quite soon if unsold here. The early 1940s in the U.S. is noted for producing extraordinarily innovative and quality garments. Often produced by hand, many reproductions and trends have been manufactured based on these timeless pieces. This jacket is a perfect representation of these transformative garments - an absolutely stunning pattern and use of materials. The light brown capeskin pops beautifully over the deep blue quality 1940s wool. Furthermore, wool jackets from this era are extraordinarily difficult to find, as most succumbed to condition issues, and many were simply worn to destruction. I purchased this jacket off of an individual who confirmed that it had never been worn outside, and indeed, I can find zero signs of use on this jacket. Apart from minor color discoloration in one area of the capeskin, the jacket is absolutely immaculate. The cinch back buckles on the rear and sleeve have zero signs of use; the beautiful plaid lining is immaculate. NOS condition 1940s large engraved buttons. The manufacturer tag reads 'Edward Goldman Co.' The only mentioning of this company I have seen from searching has been on World War II era mackinaw jackets and other such military jackets. Dated anywhere from 1940-1945. The original size tag remains and reads '44'. The pockets are immaculate. Please refer to pictures for actual measurements - please allow a small degree of discrepancy due to human error. You are unlikely to find another one of these jackets in this immaculate condition. This beautiful jacket will be shipped quickly upon payment. 800 shipped in the continental US, PayPal friends and family. If you have any questions please reach out. |
