- Type A-2 Oil Pull Horsehide, Size 36"
- Contract 42-15142-P (updated/revised pattern under Ken, which is supposed to be true to original specs and much less baggy than the pattern previously used by Aero/Scotland)
- Seal Brown Knits, Nickel Zip, Mustard Lining
- Made by a third year (final year) trainee
- Bought at the 2014/2015 Aero Quartermaster sale
- My asking price is $135 lower than what I paid
Measurements:
Size 36 as per standard pattern
Chest 20"
Shoulder 17"
Sleeve (including knits) 24"
Back (including knits, excluding collar) 23.5"
Condition:
Like new.
Not worn outside, merely tried on. The sleeves are barely beginning to break in, as would be expected from oil pull after being tried on. Lovely hide, very nice oil pull that still retains a bit of a polish (as opposed to sueded out overall).
The lighter and darker areas visible in the close-ups are due to the variation in the hide. According to Aero, oil pull will tend to get an overall duller surface over time and with wear; it also develops a patina faster than the more glossy, waxy finishes do.
Zipper works smoothly. There is one spot on the shoulder/back (to the wearer's right side) where the trainee made a few misplaced stitch holes; Aero didn't deem it necessary to mention it in the description and I didn't even notice until now when I took the close-up pics for the Classifieds.
The jacket smells like new, it also comes from a smoke/pets-free household.
Having ventured into vintage leather jackets, I have no actual need for this one. Nevertheless, if it doesn't sell for the asking price, I'm happy to keep it. This is one fine jacket.
If you need more photos, let me know by PM.
