Fellow Loungers,

After a year of fruitless searching for a vintage Chesterfield overcoat for cold weather outer wear for my morning dress and my white tie and tails I stumbled across this frock overcoat.

Now in the old style rules the frock overcoat was listed as acceptable with tails and this one nicely covers all of my tailcoats.

Here is it wearing it over the whole morning dress rig: shirt, DB waistcoat, tailcoat, etc. Sorry about looking dishelved here, not my best pictures of me...

Its still loose over both sets of tails so I can probably have the waist suppressed some to make it fit better.

Any thoughts or feedback are most welcome!

I can't tell for sure, but it appears to have the formal collar, which is the defining part of the formal overcoat or frock. Glad we no longer have the 1902 dress code. I am a bit more informal than that these days.

Did someone say "Frock Coat"!!!???...

I'm always glad to stick a photo of my George Harrison 'Hey Jude' frock coat up at the Lounge.
I am so proud of this coat - I wanted one for almost forty-years! I got this in Liverpool.

Dixon, if you keep posting pictures of that coat, I am going to have to have one. How do I get one, just in case? You need the cross walk lines in your photo!
