£200 for a pair of French workwear trousers:

the irony of course, is that these trousers would have been virtually the cheapest, wonky-stitched, utilitarian trouser you could buy. if only the original makers could see what they were selling for now. :rolleyes:

That is madness. Yes, they are fantastic condition, and I sure they are extrmely rare, but you have to be a serious collector to pay that price.

Haha yes. But they are grey chambray which looks kinda cool. Better than the usual "bleu" fabric which is virtually the same as workers wear today in europe..

i've spent around £85 on a French short grey jacket (the last one i posted in what are you wearing) and a similar amount on a grey shop-coat. i would spend more on the right trousers, but i often find these French ones are a bit low rise and shapeless around the rear. the American workwear trousers i've found are a nicer fit.

oh, and some English workwear ones are amazing too. had to pass up a beautiful lined pair made of heavy wool and Edwardian-style frog mouth pockets as they were too tight. i was boo hooing all the way home after that.
