Fraudulent A-2 Listing?

Yes it is a RW 18091 with what appears to be Bronco style pockets added. This jacket could be a wartime depot partial rebuild. As you say the label is from the later 1401-P contract.

Good catch on the pockets. It's a real Frankenstein jacket. It isn't horsehide, though.

I didn't know if it was outright fraud, but it was mislabeled and the mislabeling would tend to inflate the value of the jacket which made me think maybe it was. Could be an honest mistake. Could be fraud. I pointed out the error to the seller. As always, caveat emptor.

I can see no fraud here. Although the seller deals in a variety of WW2 militaria, one should not assume he knows much about A2s and that the jacket has the wrong label and pockets. The red rot on the leather plus the small size will deter bidding on it IMO.
