#FOUND# WTB: Light meter #FOUND#

An old friend converted me to a new hobby today: photography. I bought a reasonably good analogue camera from a charity shop for a good price and it's all in working order except that the light meter doesn't work, so I don't know what setting to put the aperture on as I lack the experience to do do this without a light meter. Does anyone therefore have a light meter which works?

Do you happen to have an iPhone?

If you do there is a light meter app that actually works quite well. I'm sure there is one for other smartphones too.

I have a Sekonic light meter that I use for proper metering, the the iPhone one is better than you might expect.

Minolta flash III

I have a good well working Minolta flash III that measures ambient as well as flash exposures. Might be a bit of overkill though. $100 USD inc. shipping.

I also have a ton of Nikon 35mm film cameras/lenses, if interested. They are old enough to be "vintage" if not "golden-age" LOL

Unfortunately I'm not technologically advanced enough to have an iphone. I have a phone but it's very basic so I can only use it for text messages and phone calls.

Thanks for the offer. That looks very good, but as you say it's a bit overkill for what I'm looking for at the moment. I want something extremely basic and simple, preferably analogue.

In regards to the lenses they wouldn't work as my camera takes 52mm lenses I believe.

A good match, no batteries required old school photovoltaic classic. What are you shooting with? Old Nikon RF? Leica m series, Voigtlander ? just nosy!

Just a simple but robust (it weighs a tonne) and hopefully reliable Praktica LTL 3. I did some reading up and they were manufactured between 1975 and 1978 in Dresden, East Germany. If used properly it appears that they can take good quality pictures, which I'll put to test soon enough.
