Just noticed that the bow on these hats is not exactly what I'd like, but pretty easy to modify to match pics of originals. Wonder why the enlisted men's hats are in wool? Could it be that the originals were wool felt? I mean the government may have seen no reason to use expensive fur felt on an issue hat, and I have heard that the originals did not hold up well in the elements! I've never thought of that until now. Looking forward to shots of your hat, Lieutenant! Some day.
